New Karen Foster!

I received some new ADORABLE papers from Karen Foster Designs on Friday, so I made a couple layouts with some of them. Knights and Princesses and Dragons, oh my! These are so cute I can hardly stand it! I also got some Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day papers too, but didn't get a chance to do layouts yet. I'll get to them soon.... come get yours soon, because with how awesome these papers are, I'm sure they won't last!

New Disney By Sandy Lion

OK, so how stinkin' cute are these new Disney papers and stickers by Sandy Lion! I've been hoping they would come out with something new! Now, if they're listening, I'd like to request some other characters please... Mickey is great, but some of the others would be good too!

Slacker! Well, that's me!

Oooooh, so I'm a slacker! How the heck did over a month go by without me blogging? Ugh! It's crazy! I've been so busy keeping up the website and everything else that it slips my mind at times. Well, I hope you can forgive me just this once.... and maybe every other time that it's happened! LOL

Well, we've got LOTS of fun new stuff in the store. Here's just a taste....

New Bo Bunny Love Bandit and Persuasion lines... these papers and embellishments are so beautiful! The photos just do NOT do them justice, so come in for yourself and see! Here are some photos... and this isn't all of it. It's just a sample sampling to whet your appetite!

For all you SCOR-PAL lovers, or even for those of you interested in them, the Scor-Pals, accompanying cutting mat, and the 1/8" or 1/4" Scor-Tape, are all back in stock! Come and get them. These have been so popular and hard to find, but I have them. If you want to learn some awesome tricks for folded projects, this is the tool you need!

Did I mention how much I LOVE this company??? I've just begun carrying their tools, but they are amazing! Tonic Studios is the maker of some of Tim Holtz's best tools... Tim Holtz Precision Scissors, Retractable Paper Piercers, Craft Knives, Distressers, and Scratchers, not to mention a really great (an affordable) 12" paper trimmer with some very cool features! And their paper trimmer comes with a Scoring blade that actually scores and doesn't cut like the other manufacturer that starts with an "F"! This is SEI at it's Fall finest! I simply adore all the colors in this paper line. Some papers are flocked or foiled too and the ribbon is just to die for!!!

More fantastic paper from SEI just in time to start those Christmas projects you've been dreaming up in your mind! Beautiful double-sided cardstock, some flat, some foiled, some flocked... all gorgeous!

OK, so I'm going out of town this week and I've been fighting a cold all week, so, of course, last night it decides to hit me full force. Needless to say, I'm tired, which brings me to another subject... new stuff. What Happened to June!?

Once again, another month has flown by and I'm behind again. I'll tell you, this running a store AND trying to keep my personal paperwork in check can sometimes get crazy! Anyhow, enough of me and my blah blah blah. I thought I'd pop in to give a quick synopsis of what came in in the second half of June to get you all caught up and then I'll start fresh, so here goes...

* I refreshed my Italy papers and stickers from Stamping Station AND got the letterman letters back in stock for the local high schools... Edison, Oceanview, Westminster, Fountain Valley, Marina, etc.

* Creative Imaginations fun Tiki themed paper came back in stock too... with summer here, it's a great paper line to play with for all the summer fun you are no doubt experiencing! Also back in stock are their Tidepools themed paper, also GREAT for summer!

* For you Star/Clone Wars fans, Creative Imaginations also came out with some very cool paper themed around the movie Star Wars and the television series of Clone Wars. It's going fast....

The 3/50 Project!

I recently heard about The 3/50 Project from another store owner and thought it was worth posting on our blog. Here goes:

1. What three independently owned businesses would you miss if they suddenly disappeared? Stop in. Say hello. Pick up something that brings a smile. Your purchases are what keeps those businesses around.

2. If half the employed population spent $50 each month in locally owned, independent businesses, it would generate more than $42.6 billion in revenue. Imagine the positive impact if three-quarters of the employeed population participated, and not just half!

3. For every $100 spent in locally owned independent stores, $68 returns to the community in taxes, payroll, and other expenditures. If you spend that in a national chain, only $43 stays in the community. Spend it online and nothing comes home.

4. The number of people it takes to start the trend... you! Just one person is all it takes to get started.

Pick 3 stores. Spend $50. Save your local economy!

That's it! Now, it's important to note that this project is not suggesting you spend $50 per month at each of three stores. They are suggesting for you to spend $50 a month at a combination of three stores.

I can tell you for sure that I have several independently-owned stores that I would desperately miss if they closed! I, for one, will start on this project idea immediately! I realize times are tough for everyone, including me, but it takes a community to save a community. So get started!

Pick your three favorite independently-owned stores. If you consider one of them to be The Scrapbook Garden, thank you! We could definitely use the help since things are slow everywhere, here included. Just be sure to pick at least three and start supporting your local community!

New Papers to Celebrate America!

I got a big, beautiful box from Designs by Reminisce on Friday, checked it in and put it right out! This paper line is gorgeous with a capital G! The photo below just does not do it justice, so come in and check it out for yourself.

I also received for new papers from the Rockin America line by Rusty Pickle and they are very nice and oh so patriotic! I don't order much from this company anymore for reasons I should keep to myself, but I couldn't pass up on the papers I received. Fireworks, flags, the Statue of Liberty, stars and stripes! I was unable to download photos of only what I ordered, so I'll just give you the names: Star Spangled Banner, Going To America, You're a Grand Old Flag, and Independence Day. Come get yours!
